What is the River Valley Alliance?
The River Valley Alliance is a not-for-profit corporation involving seven Capital Region municipalities. It was formally incorporated in 2003. Its founding shareholders include the seven municipalities holding lands in the Capital Region North Saskatchewan River Valley:
- Town of Devon
- Parkland County
- Leduc County
- City of Edmonton
- Strathcona County
- City of Fort Saskatchewan
- Sturgeon County
The River Valley Alliance has a compelling vision to preserve, protect and enhance the Capital Region river valley, to create an internationally recognized park, and to create a legacy for generations to come.
What is the vision of The River Valley Alliance?
The seven municipalities united to pursue a vision:
To create a continuous river valley park system in the Alberta capital region, from Devon through Parkland County, Leduc County, Edmonton, Strathcona County, and Sturgeon County to Fort Saskatchewan.
This will be accomplished by protecting, preserving, and enhancing the capital region's river valley park system for year round accessibility and enjoyment of its citizens and visitors.
