Business Visitations
The Business Visitation Program is part of our business retention strategy. The purpose is to introduce our committee to our local businesses. It is a way of referring customers to suppliers, a means of making companies aware of opportunities for growth, an avenue to develop business relations with local key contacts, and an acknowledgement of your business as a valued contributor to the community.
Members who are invited to attend are:
- Staff from Strathcona County Economic Development and Tourism Department
- Mayor Linda Osinshuk (if schedule permits)
- Councillor of your business area
- Executive Director of the Sherwood Park and District Chamber of Commerce
(Usually about 5 or 6 people are able to attend)
The format of the visitation is a short meeting to learn about your business (ie. products or services, number of employees, suppliers, customers, market area, etc.) We would also appreciate knowing if you are experiencing any problems with County services that we could help resolve or any business operational concerns. Then, if appropriate, a tour of your facility may help us understand your business operation.
The total visitation takes about 3/4 to one hour and if very informal. If you expect it to be longer, please let us know so we can book accordingly (i.e. large facility to tour).
