Annual Mother’s Day Tea & Art Sale

Celebration of Dance
May 21

One of Alberta’s largest Ukrainian dance extravaganzas! Costumed role players bring the stories of Alberta’s Ukrainian pioneers to life. Other activities, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., include a village market, musical entertainment, horse-drawn wagon rides, sheep shearing, church services and exhibits. The Village is 3 km. east of Elk Island National Park on Hwy. 16.

Horse Showcase 2012 
May 25-27

The Alberta Equestrian Federation, Colchester & District Agricultural Society, and UFA present the Horse Showcase at the Strathcona Olympiette Centre (Fultonvale), 52029 Range. Road. 224. See our Parade of Breeds, stick horse making, discipline demos, and Breed Alley. Activities include an amateur photo contest, kids coloring contest, and outdoor round pen demos. There is a commercial exhibit area, as well as new contests both in the ring and out.

Strathcona County RCMP Bike Rodeo & Open House
May 26

Held in conjunction with Police Week, come and learn bike safety and test your skills in the obstacle course. Enjoy the Open House and detachment tours at the same time from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. The RCMP station is located at 911 Bison Way.

Strathcona Country Classic
May 26 – 27

Gymkhana and horse events will be held on Saturday at the Josephburg Gymkhana Grounds at the corner of Township Road 550 and Range Road 213. The Cattle show will be held on Sunday at the Moyer Recreation Centre, 54569 Range Road 215

World of Horses
May 27

A free event for all horse lovers featuring over 25 different breeds. Presentations include jumping, draft horse super team, parade of breeds, gymkhana and polocrosse. Kids activities, wagon rides, hands-on grooming clinic and "spot-the-horse' scavenger hunt. The event will be held at the Strathcona Olympiette Centre from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (52029 – Range Road 224).
