Do I need a fire permit?

May 18 - A parital fire ban is in effect for Strathcona County.  The partial fire ban only allows for: recreational fires (fire pits, pots, bowls and Chimineas); fires in approved fire pits within designated campgrounds and parks; propane and natural gas appliances (eg: barbecues). No other fires are allowed. Fire and fireworks permits are suspended until the ban is lifted.

What type of fires require a fire permit in Strathcona County?

Fires which require a permit: 

Open fires (grass/brush)
Incinerator (burn barrel)
Stubble burning
Ground thaw burning

Fires that do not require a permit:

Recreational (fire pots, pits and chimineas)
Smudge
