How to obtain a fire permit
To obtain a fire permit, apply at:
- Online fire permit application
- Fire Station #1 (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday).
- Fire Station #2 (7 to 9 p.m., Wednesdays)
- Fire Station #3 (7 to 9 p.m., Thursdays)
- North Strathcona Contact Office at
Fire Station #4, Heartland Hall (1 to 4 p.m., Mondays to Thursdays)
While there is no charge for obtaining a fire permit, there are penalties for burning without one or for burning in violation of fire permit regulations.
Fire permits are valid for one full year from date of approval.
Only the land owner, leasee or occupant is eligible to apply for a fire permit. In situations where it is inconvenient for the owner, leasee or occupant to apply on-line or in-person, another person may apply for and receive the fire permit on their behalf only if written permission from the owner, leasee or occupant is provided with the application. Such secondary applications must be made in person.
