Highway signage while burning
As part of the "smoke ahead" signage program in Strathcona County, highway signage is required when land owners plan to burn within 800 metres of a primary or secondary highway.
Carillion Canada (9050-14 St., Edmonton, AB) will rent to residents whose property falls within the following perametres. A $300 deposit is required at the time of borrowing:
- Highway 21, from Highway 14 north
- Highway 14
- Highway 216
- Highway 16, from Highway 216 east
- Secondary Highway 824, from Highway 14 north to Highway 16
- Secondary Highway 830, from Highway 16 north to Highway 15
- Wye Road - Secondary Highway 630, from Secondary Highway 824 east to Range Road 202
- Secondary Highway 629, from Secondary Highway 824 east to Range Road 213
- Secondary Highway 628, from Highway 216 east to Highway 21

For properties that are within 800 metres of a primary or secondary highway that do not fall within Carillion's agreed service area, the following Alberta Transportation approved options are available:

$137.20 per signPlease ensure highway signage is removed immediately following the burn. Signage left on any highway when not required may be removed from the highway by Alberta Transportation.
