Are you and your family prepared to be self-sustaining for up to 72 hours? Each month, we will publish one small step for you and your family to work on. Complete each step and by the end of the year, you and your family will be better prepared to handle an emergency.

Step 6 - Get involved in your community

Step 8 - Ensure that people who depend on your are prepared for a disaster

Step 9 - Know how emergency information will be communicated

Step 10 - Get prepared for a potential power outage and know what to do

Step 11 - Be prepared to be self-sufficient for 72 hours

Step 12 -  Take a first aid class and have a first aid kit available
