Presentation

A public safety educator would be pleased to attend a community group meeting or be a guest speaker for a group of 10 or more people. We can come to you, or if required, set up a meeting in our facility. This program can be tailored anywhere from a 1/2 hour to 45 minutes and is free of charge.

Home safety visit

Another option for a neighbourhood (for example, a condo complex) is to schedule a series of home safety visits in the evenings. Two or more public safety educators would be pleased to visit your neighbourhood, or individual home, and perform a home safety visits at those interested residences. We will check for things like:

  • working smoke detectors
  • carbon monoxide detectors
  • discuss home escape planning
  • safety in the kitchen tips
  • look at select potential fire hazards in the home (eg. having a minimum clearance of 1 metre around your hot water tank and furnace and combustibles)
  • heating, candle, matches/lighter and electrical safety
