NOTICE TO TENDERERS

ASH STREET IMPROVEMENTS AND WYE ROAD OVERLAY
will be received until 14:00:00 hrs. Alberta Time according to the Official Tender Clock located in the Capital Planning and Construction Department; Reception Counter, on February 21, 2012 (the Close of Tenders) addressed to:
Strathcona County
Capital Planning and Construction, Main Floor, County Hall

Sherwood Park, Alberta T8A 3W7
Tenders will be opened in public immediately thereafter. Tenders received that do not comply with the foregoing will be received, date stamped and will not be opened. Verbal, telephone, telegram, electronically transmitted or facsimile Tenders or modifications thereto will not be accepted or acknowledged.
The Work, defined in particular in the Tender Form, can generally be described as:
1600 cubic metres Earthwork
21000 square metres-centimetres Surface Milling
4000 tonnes Asphalt Pavement Surface Lift
435 lineal metres Curb and Gutter
200 square metres Concrete Sidewalk
800 square metres Topsoil Placement
150 square metres Allan Block Retaining Wall
2300 lineal metres Thermoplastic Lane Markings
450 lineal metres Streetlighting
The County reserves the right to accept or reject any and all Tenders and to waive irregularities and informalities at its discretion. The County reserves the right to accept a Tender other than the lowest Tender without stating reasons. By submitting its Tender, the Tenderer waives any right to contest, in any proceedings or action, the right of the County to accept or reject any Tender in its sole and unfettered discretion. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the County may consider any other factor besides price and capability to perform the Work in its sole and unfettered discretion.
Tenders must be accompanied by the Tender Security and Consent of Surety as specified in the Instructions to Tenderers.
Questions regarding the tender or tender drawings will not be answered on the date of tender close.
The Tender Documents may be purchased from the County at the County Address specified above on or after 14:00:00 hrs. Alberta Time, February 7, 2012 for $25 (GST included). Cheques may be made payable to Strathcona County. Please note office hours are 08:30 – 12:00 and 13:00 – 16:30 weekdays.
The 2011 Design and Construction Standards may be purchased from the County at the above address for $131.25 (GST included) or the document can be viewed at

The Tender Documents and the 2011 Design and Construction Standards will become part of the Contract Documents between the County and the successful tenderer.
