will be received until 14:00:00 hrs. Alberta Time according to the Official Tender Clock located in the Transportation and Agriculture Services; Reception Counter, on February 14, 2012 (the Close of Tenders) addressed to:

Tenders will be opened in public immediately thereafter. Tenders received that do not comply with the foregoing will be returned to the Tenderer(s) without consideration. Verbal, telephone, telegram, electronically transmitted or facsimile Tenders or modifications thereto will not be accepted or acknowledged.
The Work, defined in particular in the Tender Form, can generally be described as:

14450 tonne Asphalt Surface and Base Course
36000 square metres Asphalt area milling
2500 square metres Base Repair
43500 square metres Base Reconstruction
Other miscellaneous related work
The County reserves the right to accept or reject any and all Tenders and to waive irregularities and informalities at its discretion. The County reserves the right to accept a Tender other than the lowest Tender as per tender evaluation. By submitting its Tender, the Tenderer waives any right to contest, in any proceedings or action, the right of the County to accept or reject any Tender in its sole and unfettered discretion. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the County may consider any other factor besides price and capability to perform the Work in its sole and unfettered discretion. Until the close of Tenders, the Tenderer may withdraw its Tender by delivering written notice to the County without penalty or forfeiture.
Tenders must be accompanied by the Tender Security and Consent of Surety, as specified in the Instructions to Tenderers.
Questions regarding the Tender or Tender Drawings will not be answered 24 hours prior to Tender close.
The Tender Documents may be purchased from the County at the County address specified above on or after 14:00:00 hrs. January 31, 2012 Alberta Time for $30 (GST included). Cheques may be made payable to Strathcona County.
The Standard Documents [Design and Construction Standards (dated December 2011)] may be purchased from Transportation and Agriculture Services at 370 Streambank Avenue, Sherwood Park, AB for $131.25 (GST included) or specifications can be viewed at www.strathcona.ca/designstandards.
The Tender Documents and Standard Documents will become part of the Contract Documents between the County and the successful Tenderer.
