Snow Clearing AngelWe moved to the Ardrossan area about two years ago. Last winter, we were worried how we would clear the snow from our driveway. We were not able to purchase a snow blower or quad with blade and hiring someone all year gets expensive.One morning, after watching more and more snowfall, I prayed about what we could do to clear the driveway. About 10 minutes later, I heard a motor coming on our yard. There was our neighbour clearing our driveway. We had not even met him or his wife yet and he just decided to be neighbourly. We have really appreciated them ever since!

My neighbour is great. He has a greenhouse and always provides me with the most beautiful plants. Also, over the years he has mentored youth, been involved in several organizations and always makes time for everyone. A gem of a man.

Eager to Help
My next door neighbour was wonderful one summer when we had to fly to Ontario and we were informed the night before that concrete would be poured the next day. We quickly told him we would be away and he volunteered to supervise the construction. When we came home everything was done, clean and looking beautiful. What a great neighbour!

What a Wonderful World
Our family is very thankful to be surrounded by great neighbours but we have an extra social relationship with one. We watch each other’s homes when either of us is away, we mow the lawn and shovel snow for each other, and we move each other’s waste collection carts from the curb. Great neighbours are friendly, helpful and respectful. This neighbour is all of those things and much more! What a wonderful world it would be if we all treated each other with such kindness.

Our neighbours have been good friends since 1999. When we moved in, they made us feel very welcome and helped us get to know the neighbourhood and the history of our house. They always took care of our house while we were away on holidays and shoveled our walks in winter. They would bring us cinnamon buns, chocolate and almond bark, especially at Christmas.

Winter Wonderland
We have a great neighbourhood in Heritage Hills. One winter day after a huge snowfall, our driveway and sidewalk already shoveled. Our neighbour snow blowed the entire cul-de-sac. It was wonderful so we made him cookies and hot chocolate to thank him. He still surprises us after a heavy snowfall.

Welcome Wagon
We were new to Sherwood Park this spring and my neighbour came over to say hi to my family. She brought my boys an Easter egg decorating kit, which they loved. It was so nice of her to think of us and make that initial contact. From then on, I felt safer to have a friend in the crescent.

All Season Care
We live on an acreage and are very fortunate to have helpful next door neighbours. Every winter they clean the snow from our large driveway after a snowstorm, even when the temperature is cold. What a treat to come home and find the driveways cleared. When my husband cut a tendon in his finger, they came to our aid and helped cut our lawns. Thanks to our neighbours for their assistance and neighbourly generosity.
