Social Indicators

A set of measures has been developed to measure the social health of people in our community over time. These indicators provide baseline information by which to measure changes, both good and bad, in our community.

Negative changes in indicators will provide a basis for planning programs or services. Positive changes will faciliate evaluation of targeted programs.

The indicators were developed using objective data from statistics and qualitative data from a community survey - The Health and Lifestyle Checkup. It is intended that the indicators will be updated as new data becomes available. The Health and Lifestyle Check Up will be conducted every five years.
