Addiction assessments, individual and family counselling. Referral to community and other Alberta Health Services programs. Prevention services include community consultations and collaboration, community presentations and workplace training.

Mobile Youth Services

A youth counsellor comes out every Tuesday to Strathcona County Family and Community Services to provide individual and family counselling to youth and families whose lives are impacted by drug addiction. Information and referrals to other programs within AHS can also be provided.

Adult Counselling & Prevention Services

Assessments, counselling, treatment and community referrals for people who are harmfully involved with, or impacted by someone using drugs or alcohol, and/or gambling. Assessments for alcohol, drug and/or gambling abuse or addiction. Individual, couple and family counselling on an outpatient basis.

This group is psycho-educational providing an opportunity for adult clients to talk about individual challenges and successes in recovery. Information pertaining to the development of a healthy lifestyle is provided.

Recovery program for family and friends of problem drinkers.

Narcotics Anonymous 

A spiritual, non-religious, recovery program. Offers fellowship with other men and women who are recovering from addiction.

Parents Empowering Parents (PEP)

A facilitated proactive group for people concerned about ,or dealing with, drug/alcohol addiction in their family. Get education, resources, find support and learn to get control back. For families with children of any ages, including adult children.

R.C.M.P. Strathcona County Detachment

Presentations on such topics as D.A.R.E., child safety, Crime Stoppers, Crime Watch, drug and alcohol awareness, and impaired driving.

U-Turn for Youth

A voluntary support group for youth who have made the decision to quit using drugs or alcohol. U-Turn provides youth with a supportive social outlet, as they work on rebuilding their social skills and self confidence.
