In 2011, the baby boomers began turning 65.  With nearly 9,000 residents over the age of 65 in Strathcona County, older adults are a growing demographic. For the first time in our history, seniors will out-number children and youth.  

Older adults are an asset to our community. As an an age-friendly and caring community, Strathcona County is dedicated to meeting their needs today and in the future.

Medication Safety

Join Huy Luong, pharmacy manager at Synergy Pharmacy, as he discusses medication safety and shares some tips on how to take your medications properly. Learn mays to maximize the effects of your medication and minimize your risks. Bring your questions.

Scams and Frauds- Are You At Risk?

Do you know how to recognize a scam or a fraud? Do you know what the top scams are this year? Did you know that 7% of Strathcona County seniors have been victims of scams/frauds since turning 55. The Wise Owl Program specializes in frauds targeting older adults, such as telemarketing, home renovation scams and investments.
