Centre in the Park receives Minister's Outstanding Achievement Award

Strathcona County's Centre in the Park Public-Private Partnership with Christenson Developments was honoured with the 2008 Outstanding Achievement Award at the Minister of Municipal Affairs' Awards of Excellence.

The award recognizes Centre in the Park as a project that embodies the benefits of cooperation between public and private organizations in creating a sustainable, mixed-use heart of the community that meets the expressed needs of the community and stakeholders.

This project was Strathcona County's first experience in creating a public-private sector partnership for a development project. The County challenged and adapted traditional process to both build a strong partnership with Christenson Developments and implement sustainability principles into planning and development.
