Community Events and Challenges

Strathcona County enjoys engaging the schools in our community events. These great events can generate competition among your school, or simply provide your school with the opportunity to learn about community issues.

NEW Annual Agricultural Poster Contest

Strathcona County's Agricultural Services Board (ASB) invited kids in grades 3, 4 and 5 to enter its annual poster contest, The theme of 2012 is "Why are farms important to me?" The contest encourages children to thinkk about the importance of agriculture and how it links to them, whether they live on a farm, acreage or in town.

Arbor Day

This day is for all grade one's.that happens the beginning of May. Help instill the importance of trees at an early age.

School's Mayor Walk/Run

Calling all schools or classroom that are interested in participating in a walk/run as a healthy initiative and to gain team spirit. This great event happens the beginning of May.

Your school can pick a date, in the last 2 weeks in April, to pick up garbage and we will supply the waste bags to help you clean up your school and the surrounding community!
