Volunteer with Recreation, Parks and Culture

Show your community pride and spirit at Strathcona County's festivals and events.

As a volunteer, you'll make a difference in the life of a child, contribute to your community's spirit, meet new friends and learn new skills. You'll have the time of your life while making a positive impact in our community.

Recreation, Parks and Culture has many volunteer opportunities where you can involve your family or just yourself and be outside at the same time.

Opportunities include:

PlayDay's

Playdays, happening July 22 and August 22 at Broadmoor Lake Park, July 31 at Ardrossan Recreation Centre Greenspace and August 20 at Brookville Community Hall, are free supervised, yet inspirational settings that allow kids to instinctively, creatively and energetically have fun. The PlayDay offers children a variety of active play activities that appeal to all of their senses: sight, sound, smell, touch and taste. Each activity celebrates getting back to the basics – digging in sand, building forts, playing games – the kind of activities that come naturally to kids.

Each PlayDay will consist of a variety of different activities such as sand, building, water, bubble and more.
