No parking on Fir Street

The overflow lot is still available for parking.
Please ensure you are not parked north of the Transit Centre on Fir Street. If you are, you may be tagged and towed.

Strathcona County's double-decker innovation recognized by the Alberta Government
Strathcona County Transit's innovative lease and year-long test of a double decker bus has been recognized by Alberta Municipal Affairs. The Honourable Mention was announced at the recent fall conventions of Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties (AAMDC) and the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA). The on-road trial of a double-decker bus had never before been used for public transportation in the province. This project provides valuable first-hand information to aid in the final decision on whether to permanently purchase these buses for public use.

GreenTRIP provides $13.6 million grant for Strathcona County's transit terminal
The Alberta Government has awarded Strathcona County with a $13.6 million grant from the Province’s GreenTRIP funding program. The grant will be used towards a new off-street bus terminal and expanded parking.
The new transit terminal located on Bethel Drive, the current site of the Strathcona Station and Park and Ride, will be an integrated terminal and park and ride lot that will eventually anchor intermunicipal transit service between Strathcona County and Edmonton. This terminal will also serve as a base for local service within Sherwood Park. Once Council approves both the plans and the budget, we expect the ground breaking to take place in late 2011 with plans to open in mid 2013. More...
