Pedestrian Countdown Signals Pilot Project
Transportation and Agriculture Services has installed pedestrian countdown signals at four select intersections in Sherwood Park as part of a pilot project.
- Sherwood Drive and Baseline Road
- Sherwood Drive and Granada Boulevard
- Clover Bar Road and Crimson Drive / Dawson Drive
- Broadmoor Boulevard and Sioux Road / Mission Street
The purpose of the Pedestrian Countdown Signals Pilot Project is to assess the impact of the countdown signals on intersection safety for both drivers and pedestrians. As part of the evaluation, Transportation and Agriculture Services will be monitoring collision records and driver behaviour at these intersections prior to and after installing the devices.
