Improvements to the Strathcona County Water Supply System (SCWSS)

The purpose of the SCWSS is to ensure Strathcona County residences continue to receive adequate water supply and pressure and to meet ultimate water demand conditions when Sherwood Park is built out to it's boundaries.

Upgrading the existing booster station to meet the requirements at the new 17th street reservior. The project consists of a new addition to the existing building as well as two new pumps.

Strathcona County is installing a waterline in the Transportation Utility Corridor (TUC) that runs parallel to Highway 216, east of the highway between 92 Avenue and Petroleum Way. The work is scheduled to be complete in the summer of 2012.
17 Street Reservoir Expansion

Construction of the 17th Street Reservoir and Pumphouse Expansion is almost complete! As part of the Strathcona County's Water Supply System (SCWSS), a portion of phase one ($20 million project) commenced May 2009 and is estimated to be completed in the spring of 2012.

This water line is being installed by directional drill method. It will be connected to the Northern Bear reservior.
Half Moon Lake fill station October 2, 2011 - February 2012
