Printed copies of the guide are available at County Hall or call Utilities to have one mailed to you.
Here is an overview of weekly collection services
Organics
Green roll-out cart and a small covered pail (green catcher) is also supplied to collect organics in the kitchen.
What to put in it
- Organics
- Kitchen scraps, grass clippings
How much you can put out for collection
All organics must fit inside the cart with the lid closed. Materials left outside the cart will not be collected.
How often you can put these out
Every other week (alternated with waste)
Waste

What to put in it
- Waste
- Items made of two or more materials that cannot be taken apart (i.e. chip bags, granola bar wrappers)
How much you can put out for collection
All waste must fit inside the cart with the lid closed. Materials left outside the cart will not be collected.

Blue bag
Clear blue plastic bag only. Bags can be purchased at most grocery or home improvement stores.
What to put in it
- Recyclable containers
- Glass, metal, plastic, styrofoam

Unlimited quantity

Reusable bag or container
You can use an old garbage can with a recycling sticker or another reusable bag or container.
What to put in it
- Paper products
- Newspaper, corrugated cardboard, cereal and tissue boxes, writing paper, milk cartons
