International Women's Day
Honouring yesterday's heroes and tomorrow's role models.
Better because of the women who have made a difference in our community.
The Strathcona County International Women's Day Award acknowledges the economic, political and social achievements and contributions of local women past, present and future. Up to 10 women will be recognized at the 2012 awards ceremony.
This award celebrates women who have championed the rights of youth, family and seniors. Some are pioneers who built our urban and rural community from the ground up. They are leaders in academia, industry, business and agriculture. They have provided stability and leadership in the church, in politics and in the community.
They are the heart of our homes. These women are yesterday's heroes and tomorrow's role models.
