AG Agriculture: General

  • Maximum size is 100 sq. m (1076 sq. ft.) or not more than 40% of gross floor area of the main house, whichever is less

A suite cannot be considered within a house containing a group home, care centre, family care dwelling or bed and breakfast.

A secondary suite must be within a house or a garage (above or attached). If you were wanting to know about secondary dwellings (a second house on a property) or agricultural acessory housing (housing for farm hands), contact Planning and Development Services.

The above information is intended to provide a basic understanding of the regulations affecting secondary suites and should not be used as an official interpretation of the various regulations currently in effect. For full details and interpretation of Land Use Bylaw 8-2001 contact Planning and Development Services.
