The County frequently completes various projects related to land use planning. These plans are a vision for how we want our County to grow and change. Land use plans are a guide for long-term development and shape the types of future activities or uses that can take place in different areas throughout the County. These plans can vary in scale, with some applying to the entire County while others are focused on a specific area. 

Ongoing planning projects include brand new land use plans that are being developed, changes to existing plans, or new studies and initiatives.

Active development areas

Active development areas are considered areas within the County that are undergoing active development or pre-development planning. This development is guided by land use plans that have been completed and approved by Council.
